Yanni in India

After 17 long years, Yanni finally returned to India this April to a warm and enthusiastic welcome. Upon his arrival in Chennai, many of India's most revered musical maestros greeted Yanni at a red-carpet reception (New Indian Express) and presented him with gifts. The concert a couple days later took the city by storm and the orchestra received a loud and thundering applause from thousands of fans who had been waiting nearly two decades to see Yanni in person. Bangalore followed later in the week. Once again Yanni was given a warm welcome and fans from all around India came to Bangalore just to meet him and present him with their own handmade gifts. The shows in India have left fans walking on air and reminded them that dreams really do come true.
